Do you enjoy using WordPress, want to help it get even better and share your enthusiasm for it with others?
Book now for Belfast’s very first Contributor Event to coincide with the 15th anniversary of WordPress that weekend.
“I’m new to WordPress, would I be welcome?” – Yes!
If you are a new contributor to the WordPress project and not sure where to start, sign-up for this fascinating afternoon where you will be able to discover ways you can make a difference, develop or refresh your skills. You will meet like-minded developers, content people and designers. If you use WordPress for a hobby or for work, there is a contribution project you can join.
This event is about you and how you might want to contribute and learn along the way.
There will be plenty of people on hand to give advice, show you the ways to get started and help to explain some of the ways in which you can make a difference.
“I’ve been contributing for years, why should I come?”
Contribution events are also a great place to go if you have been contributing to the project for years. They provide opportunities to enthuse other WordPressers by sharing what you have learnt and to find solutions together with others interested in similar issues. It is a way of helping to expand the community and being part of it too.
Everyone is welcome to sign-up to Belfast’s Contributor Event. Places are limited so book up early. We will send attendees details of what they might want to bring with them, for example, laptops and power cords (with UK adaptors), tablets able to access the internet and WordPress, pen and paper.
To help everyone who signs-up to get the most from the event, we will send you some useful links beforehand to help you access resources like Slack and the different WordPress contributor areas. You can also tell us your areas of interest. You do not need to prepare anything to attend the event.

You can contribute to WordPress in so many different areas. If you are a code-enthusiast, then there are lots of things to work on just waiting for you.
Do you speak another language? Then your skills could help the translation team. Have a passion for marketing?

Venue: Farset Labs Belfast. For the Contribution Event, we plan to use the same venue as the WordPress Belfast meetup.
2pm start
Introduction to the Contributor Event followed by groups exploring specific tasks.
There will be a chance to chat with fellow contributors.
Tea, coffees, fruit and cake will be available. This is designed to be a relaxed and informal event.
