Just one week to submit your session

Be a speaker, discover the beauty of Belfast, and make a difference to your community. If you have specialist knowledge of a WordPress topic or solution for making it even more useful, then we want to hear from you.

As time marches on, we are getting ever closer to WordCamp Belfast.

The WordCamp Belfast 2018 call for speakers closes in a week’s time on 2 April 2018. There is still a few days to submit your ideas for a short or long talk or workshop.

You do not have to live in Northern Ireland to be a speaker. We are open to submissions from the immediate locality and from further afield.

In the spirit of the WordPress community, we are keen to support first time speakers and anyone who feels they would like some extra mentoring to be able to speak at this WordCamp or a future event.

Our speakers and sessions include a wide range of topics, and specialities.
They all share common interests – WordPress, sharing and learning. It will be a very special WordCamp as the global community will celebrate 15-years of WordPress the weekend of the Belfast event, 25 – 27 May 2018.

We are looking for sessions on a wide range of topics, so long as your topic is WordPress related, it will be considered.

Session Topics could include any of the following:

  • Accessibility
  • Site Security
  • Hosting set-up
  • Site Performance
  • E-Commerce on WordPress
  • Business management
  • Search engine optimisation
  • Developer topics, including:
    • code snippets
    • functions & actions
    • WP RestAPI
    • Plugin development
  • Gutenberg
  • GDPR

Sessions can also take the form of different lengths, and types.

  • Long form talk – 30mins & 10mins Q&A
  • Lightning talk – 10mins & 5mins Q&A
  • Panel Discussions – 45mins
  • Workshop – 45mins

To submit a session or talk, head over to our Call For Speakers Page, and fill in the short form.

How else can you be involved?

There’s still time to be involved in the organising and planning for WordCamp, drop us a line via our contact form.

You can also volunteer or perhaps even sponsor.
And it doesn’t stop there!

WordCamp Belfast will host, what we believe will be Ireland’s first ever Contributor Event. If you would like to help with the Contributor Event on 25 April 2018 and say a few words about your own contributing, we would also like to hear from you.
